John from across the River, Harold, and I got together Monday Afternoon, At Little John, on Hwy 35... The Groomer from over the hill was Broke Down so the trails were kinda Rough.... (Why does that Always Happen when we Need It The Most..... Damn)............After a weekend of heavy use.....Nobody had gotten into the Good Places........We headed up 44.. to the first opportunity to get off the trail.....The Powder was about as good as it comes.......We crossed the trail once in the next 3 Hrs..... I took a few Pix.... the Best ones ended up being of Blank Snow.......I just never can get the Action Shots I'd like with these Digital Cams..... Sorry Harold and John......
Harold made it Up this Hill Side OK
Harold again Applying a little Body English
This is My first Stick.....Stuck again 20' further..... Harolds 3rd.....
Dang Powder was Tough down in this Hole......I asked them if they were
Gluttons for Punishment before we went down in there......One of My Secret
Places
John's got thet there Rollin Turn Down to an ART
I finally got some Stuck Pix....... hehe.... I didnt get em all (At least 20 Sticks) I can only remember Me 2 times in about 20 feet.... John, I only saw Once.....there were others.... Not Harold, He made the King of Sticks Today.... I saw at least 8 Times.... And I didnt see em all ........ I did sit on the Top of a Hill for at least a 1/2 hour once.....Couldnt see Em.... Heard Em once in a while...... They finally made it up......GreyGhostII was a bit of a Dog today but it was the First One Up the Canyon Wall down under and west of Horkela Meadows.......First Pass even............No Pix Damnit
Finally Caught John Stuck... hehe..... That Yammie was Amazing today
Made Our Polaris look Bad.....He knows how to make it Talk tho......;-)
I think John spent at least half his mileage in this
attitude.... He fell
off a few time, These Sleds are so Forgiving (Most of the time)
They just Flop back Down, Stop and Wait for Us to get back on......
and Go some more......
We finally made High Prairie ...... Cold and White.....
We Didnt go in there, but I could see from the Trail........Snow
at Survival Shelter
appeared to be up to the Eaves... 16' ?
At High Prairie, Harold got on John's Yammie, and John was Chasin
Im....... They Had a
good Banked Oval after a few Circles.........hehe
OOPs...... Harolds Stuck Again...... Dont ya just hate that....?
hehe
I run outta Batteries about this time....
so we headed East .....Down the Back Side
A couple of Doo's had left the Snow
Park ahead of Us..... and I guess they headed this way too...... We Never
Saw Em..... but they had headed this way......We Kept seein a lotta BIG
HOLES in the Trail..... Broken Limbs, Tree SideSwipes....etc, etc.....Harold
Abruptly Stopped..... Kinda leanin into a tree......He didnt hit
it.... The Kinda Broken Trail Stopped.....The Doo's had Turned around while
the gettin was good..
......We Guessed
The Cornices had Taken over the Trail.....
We debated whether to turn around...... We Figured it would be
harder to turn around than
to keep goin...... We elected to Walk down some of the Cornice Tops
and Fill in the Bottoms...
Success..... We Made it down to Yamaha Hill about Dark.....It had been
tore up all weekend ....tho there
were some Virgin Snow left..... John Finally made it up in his own
track, after about 4-5 tries.....
Harold got Stuck again.......dfangit... r somethin........The Usual
Chute was well beat down so Harold Made it out OK too.......hehe.....That
wasnt fair was it ? hehe.....
We got back to 44 and lined up 3 wide.... Harold was King there......
They Both ran away from Me........ and I had the Biggest, Newest Mtr too.......This
New Sled has been a bit disappointing so far....... Help....
AnyWays..... It was by far the best riding so far this yr.......There is still some Wood Hiding under the Snow to be Connected With..... And We Did Too......No Major Damage........
Thas it for this Day..... We'r all Tuckered Out........Me Especially..... I'm gettin too Old For This
